Featured Keynote Speaker: Peter Velthuis, MD
In recognition of Dr. Lawrence M. Field's lifelong commitments to dermatologic surgery, this year's ASDS International Traveling Mentorship Program (ITMP) session features a Keynote Lecture from world-renowned safety pioneer, Dr. Peter Velthuis.
Dr. Peter Velthuis is a dermatologist with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice. In 1990, he wrote his thesis on photo-immunology in lupus erythematosus and related skin disorders. In 2004, after more than 10 years of general dermatology, he devoted his career to cosmetic dermatology and lasers. The Velthuis Clinic for Cosmetic Medicine, which he founded, became the largest in the Netherlands.
Entering the Department of Dermatology in Erasmus University Medical Center in 2016, Dr. Velthuis set up the Section for Cosmetic Dermatology. In this role, he co-authored more than 60 scientific publications. Dr. Velthuis is president of the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Medicine (ESCAD), Scientific Director of IMCAS FUND and co-founder of the NVCD (Dutch Association Cosmetic Dermatology). Within his company Cutaneous, he advocates the use of ultrasonography in cosmetic medicine.
Vic Narurkar, MD, Innovations in Aesthetic Dermatology Lecture

This lecture was created to honor the legacy of Dr. Narurkar, whose untimely and unfortunate passing was a tremendous loss that has affected the dermatology community. Dr. Narurkar was an inspiration to colleagues, residents, industry and his friends around the world who both felt his influence and his extraordinary contributions to the field of aesthetic dermatology. His many contributions to aesthetics, and his pioneering efforts, leadership and passion for mentoring young dermatologists / residents is recognized here.
