2026 Competition Deadlines

Recommended manuscript submission deadline to the journal: Dec. 15, 2025
Letter of acceptance and competition application due to ASDS: May 15, 2026

ASDS seeks to increase the number of review articles published in Dermatologic Surgery on topics of broad scientific interest or highly focused clinical topics related to therapy, diagnosis or other aspects of dermatologic surgery practice.

Unlike other writing contests that provide you with a list of topics to choose from, the goal of the Review Article Incentive Program is to encourage authors to imagine new ways of looking at literature and find unique ways to focus on a single topic.

Awards will be given each year at the discretion of the judges. Winning submission(s) will receive complimentary general registration to the ASDS Annual Meeting, as well as a complimentary two-night hotel stay.

Manuscripts must follow the Dermatologic Surgery Author Guidelines and be accepted for publication before members can submit a Review Article Incentive Program application. Writing contest winners are not eligible for other ASDS Annual Meeting resident scholarships.
