Fredric S. Brandt, MD, Innovations in Aesthetics Fellowship Fund

Funded by The Allergan Foundation in memory of ASDS member and cosmetic dermatology pioneer Fredric S. Brandt, MD, this fund supports research of up to two Fellows per year who are enrolled in an ASDS-accredited Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery Fellowship Training Program and supports the career development of junior cosmetic dermatologic surgeon-scientists focused on cosmetic treatments and patient care.

Up to $50,000 in grants will be awarded to selected Fellow(s) enrolled in an ASDS-accredited Cosmetic Dermatologic Surgery (CDS) Fellowship Training Program in the 2019/2020 academic year.

4. Abbreviated curriculum vitae for the Principal Investigator.
5. Bio-sketch of all Co-investigators.
6. A letter of support from your CDS Fellowship Director.
7. A letter of support from each participating research site.
8. A 250-word layman statement of the proposed research, including research objectives and educational goals.
9. A summary containing the following required components specific to the research project:

  • A detailed description of the hypothesis to be answered with support provided by the research grant. Figures and tables are encouraged.
  • The significance of the research to the field of dermatologic surgery.
  • A brief overview of prior related studies that have been published in the area of this research project.
  • A description of the experimental design, procedures and process of data analysis that will be used. Power calculations are required to estimate sample sizes.
  • Complete citations of all referenced literature.
