2022 Stegman Award Recipient Murad Alam, MD, MBA
The career of Samuel J. Stegman, MD, was linked with innovative leadership and tireless advocacy for the specialties of dermatology and dermatologic surgery. His distinguished skills as a clinician, teacher, mentor, researcher and lecturer played a critical role in the evolution of dermatologic surgery and helped foster the growth of ASDS. This special award honors members of ASDS who, through individual effort, have made a substantial contribution to the advancement of the goals of ASDS in the areas of education, organizational service and / or research.
In addition to a statue commemorating the award, the recipient will receive a travel grant and complimentary registration for the ASDS Annual Meeting. The awardee will be notified in writing by June and is expected to attend the ASDS Annual Meeting to receive the award.
The Samuel J. Stegman, MD, Award for Distinguished Service has been established to honor individuals who have made major contributions in furthering the goals of ASDS. These contributions may be identified in the following areas:
ASDS members may not be nominated for an award while serving as a member of the Award Work Group. Nominees may not be nominated by their spouse or domestic partner.
To nominate an individual, submit the nominee’s name, along with a detailed summary of the nominee’s contributions to the goals of ASDS in education, organizational service or research. The application must be seconded in writing by another ASDS member. Be sure to print and sign the application. Nominations must be submitted no later than May 21, 2021.
