For the sixth consecutive year, the ASDS Consumer Survey on Cosmetic Dermatologic Procedures indicates dermatologists are the primary influencer on consumers' decision to have a cosmetic procedure. Additionally, the survey found that over half of consumers would prefer to pay more up front to lower their annual skin care costs.
Consumers rated what bothers them about their appearance, and ranking first for the sixth year in a row is excess fat on any part of the body at 86 percent.
The survey also uncovered the reasons why people are turning to cosmetic procedures. Holding the top three spots for six consecutive years are the desires to “feel more confident,” “feel more attractive” and “look as young as I feel or better for my age.”
Data from the annual ASDS survey reflects overall consumer views on cosmetic medical treatments and ratings for 10 specific procedures.
