The ASDSA Top Advocate and Patient Safety Hero Awards recognize individuals and organizations dedicated to protecting patient safety, advocacy and the practice of dermatology.

SCHAUMBURG, ILL., NOV. 10, 2025 – The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Association (ASDSA), an organization dedicated to advocating on behalf of dermatologic surgeons and their patients, is pleased to announce the recipients of its annual awards, the Patient Safety Hero Award and Top Advocate, to be given at the ASDS Annual Meeting in Chicago.
PATIENT SAFETY HERO AWARD
The 2025 recipients of the Patient Safety Hero Award are recognized for playing a crucial role in the passage of ASDSA’s SUNucate model legislation in New Jersey, which ensures students can access sunscreen and sun-protective clothing in schools and at school-sponsored events without requiring a physician’s note. Their efforts help safeguard the health of children across the state by making sun safety more accessible.
