Current Law
SUNucate legislation has been enacted. 2018: HB 1228 enacted. Students may possess and use sunscreen at school entities during school hours, activities, or under supervision. Parental/guardian must sign a form; Department of Education provides a model form. Sun-protective clothing and hats allowed, subject to school prohibitions. 2023-2024: Additional legislation and regulatory guidance expanded sun protection.
