SUNucate
Current Status: Not Enacted
Current Law
Idaho has not enacted a SUNucate-specific school sunscreen access law. However, current law or state guidance includes sun-safe education (curriculum), which provides partial alignment with the SUNucate model.
Comparison to the SUNucate
Idaho has limited alignment with the SUNucate model because it addresses sun-safe education (curriculum), but it has not enacted comprehensive student sunscreen possession and use protections in schools.
Opportunities for Improvement
Adopt the full SUNucate model, including student possession and self-application of sunscreen; staff assistance with parental permission; youth camp protections; sun-protective clothing; hats and sunglasses; sun-safe education; and a sunscreen sales-tax exemption.
