2027 Medicare Fee Schedule

The recently released Medicare Physician Fee Schedule has proposed a 9% payment cut for dermatology. This reduction would come after more than two decades without a permanent inflationary update to Medicare physician payment, which has fallen approximately 33% since 2001 when adjusted for inflation, even as practice costs continue to rise. Take action now by calling on Congress to reverse the Medicare Cuts.

Your Patients Need Your Voice.

Proposed changes to the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule could significantly reduce reimbursement for many dermatologic surgery services. These reductions come at a time when the cost of providing care continues to rise and Medicare physician payments have already lost substantial ground to inflation. For dermatologic surgeons, this is about more than reimbursement. It is about preserving patients' access to timely, high-quality care.

ASDS is advocating for a sustainable Medicare physician payment system that supports physicians' ability to continue caring for Medicare patients. But Congress also needs to hear directly from dermatologic surgeons about what continued payment reductions mean for their practices and patients.

Bring the Campaign to Your Practice

Your patients can be powerful advocates for their own care. Congress needs to hear from the patients who could be affected by reduced access to local medical care—a grassroots approach also being emphasized by AADA. ASDS has created ready-to-use resources to make patient engagement easy.
