Premier Annual Resident Cosmetic Symposium Registration Policy

Registration occurs through completion and submission of the scholarship application according to the instructions on the form. Space is limited to 100 residents who meet the pre-registration requirements listed below.

Resident Scholarships

  • ASDS scholarships up to $600 will be awarded to up to 100 dermatology resident applicants.
  • A maximum of two residents from any dermatology residency program will receive priority in the first round deadline of January 31, 2018.
  • Registration fee of $279 includes the following meals / functions: cocktail receptions on both nights; breakfast, lunch and networking dinner on Saturday; and breakfast on Sunday. This fee is reimbursed from the scholarship award.
  • A letter from your surgical director recommending that you attend this course and registration payment of $279 is required to process your application.
  • The following is required to register, apply for, and receive the scholarship:
    • You must be an ASDS dermatology resident in an ACGME-approved dermatology training program.
    • Attendance and participation during the entire symposium is required (Friday 4:00 pm check-in through Sunday 12:00 pm conclusion); do not register if you cannot attend for the duration.
    • A completed ASDS Expense Report documenting approved expenses: registration fee, ASDS course hotel room at negotiated room rate, and direct travel expenses (transportation to and from airport; airline; local mileage reimbursed at 53.5 cents per mile). No reimbursement / scholarship money can be applied to any hotel other than the headquarters hotel.
    • Essay (in 200 words or less) describing how the resident symposium benefitted your dermatology education / career.
    • Expense reports and essays must be submitted to ASDS by May 15, 2018, for reimbursement.

Cancellation / Refund Policy

Refunds, less $100 administrative fee, will be allowed for cancellations received at the ASDS office in writing no less than 30 days prior to a scheduled course. After that date, no refunds will be permitted. Meeting sponsor is not responsible for travel expenses or penalties under any circumstances. The ASDS reserves the right to cancel this symposium based on registration levels. Registrants will be notified by telephone and a formal letter of cancellation will follow in the mail. In the event of course cancellation, registration fees are refundable. However, travel penalties are the responsibility of the registrant.

Hotel and Travel

All registrants will receive a letter of confirmation from ASDS upon receipt of their registration. Do not make airline reservations prior to receiving a letter of confirmation. Should you fail to receive a letter of confirmation prior to departure, please contact the ASDS Education and Meetings Department at 847-956-0900.

Registrants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations. Please identify the ASDS course you will be attending when making your hotel reservations. While a sufficient number of rooms have been set aside at the hotel for course registrants, there are occasions when the room block sells out prior to the cut-off date. Please make your hotel reservations as early as possible. Reservations made after the course registration deadline will be accepted on a space-available basis and may not qualify for discounted rates.

Accreditation Statement and CME Designation

The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. This resident symposium is a non-CME educational activity.


As a sponsor of continuing medical education accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), it is required by ASDS that all speakers and moderators disclose any interest or other relationship with any manufacturer or commercial products that may be discussed during ASDS educational programs. Disclosures will be included with course materials.

  • Dress attire: business casual. Dress in layers to accommodate all temperatures.
