Summer Sun Safety

Before you kick off your Memorial Day weekend, take some time to review sun safety tips for Don't Fry Day-- Friday, May 27th! Practicing good sun safety all throughout the summer will help you avoid the risk of developing skin cancer and other sun-related diseases. Most skin cancers are caused by overexposure to UV radiation, so it's important to make sure you're taking the proper steps to avoid any harmful effects of the sun. An easy way to remember to protect yourself is: Slip! Slop! Slap! Wrap! 

 • Slip on a shirt

 • Slop on a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher

 • Slap on a hat

 • Wrap on a pair of sunglasses
