Climb to the Next Level of Success
Develop the essential skills you need to become a leader in dermatologic surgery, grow your practice, influence colleagues and staff, and make a difference in your community.
The Future Leaders Network creates opportunities for young and mid-career professionals to enhance their leadership skills and prepare them to become the next generation of leaders in dermatological surgery. The one-year curriculum includes programs for mentors and young leaders, and incorporates leadership and project management training exercises working with a professional facilitator. Hands-on learning through work on a focused project impacting ASDS and dermatological surgery helps put skills learned into action.
Just some of what you will learn:
- Strengthen and gain insights into your leadership style
- Translate your vision into realistic business strategies
- Build and manage cohesive teams
- Effectively persuade and motivate others
- Master public speaking
- Manage projects efficiently
- Successfully negotiate and manage conflict
- Apply leadership concepts to a real-life scenario
Help make a difference. Volunteer to be a mentor!
It only takes one person to make a difference. As a volunteer mentor, you have an excellent opportunity not only to apply and enhance your own leadership skills, but also to develop new friendships and enhance your understanding of ASDS and the work it does. You will share your experiences, interests, and knowledge as you see your mentee grow and meet the challenges of creating and producing a project that expresses his or her talent to be a future leader of the ASDS.
If you have any questions about the Future Leaders Network (FLN) call the ASDS at 847-956-0900 or email Debra Kennedy.
The 2012-2013 Future Leaders Network is generously supported by Kythera Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. and Ethicon.
